SHORT ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive to Cusco:

Arrival to Cusco before noon, we will meet you in the airport and transfer you to the designated hotel; in the afternoon, you’ll have a guided city tour.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas:

A full-day tour; you’ll visit the local market at Pisac and the Inca ruins of Pisac and Ollantaytambo.

Day 3: Travel to the town of Aguas Calientes:

After breakfast in the hotel, we’ll approach the train for 2-hours to the town of Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon you can explore this small town.

Day 4: Machu Picchu Tour:

Experience a guide tour of Machu Picchu in the morning and in the afternoon, return to Cusco. There is an option to climb the “Huayna Picchu” Mountain.

Day 5: Rainbow Mountain Tour:

Explore the most beautiful mountain of the Andes; “Vinincunca” or the Rainbow Mountain. It is a full Day Tour.

Day 6: Departure from Cusco

Transfer out.

DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY FOR CUSCO COMFORT TOUR

Day 1: Arrive to Cusco and city tour.-

On Day 1 of our Cusco Comfort Tour, you will arrive in Cusco at any time before noon. We will transfer you to the designated hotel upon receiving your flight details. In the afternoon, you will embark on a guided city tour, which includes visits to the Cathedral, the Qorikancha or Temple of the Sun of the Incas, and the Inca ruins of Sacsaywaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay, and Puca pucara. The city tour will last approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Recommendations

• Once you arrive in the airport of Cusco Please search for your name or the logo of “Sunrise Peru Trek”; our staff will be waiting for you with a sign.
• For the tour take with you small backpack where you can carry your camera, snacks, water, warm jacket and rain gear.
• After the tour take a walk through the “Plaza de Armas” and its surroundings where you can appreciate the work of Cusco artisans in craft shops, you can also taste the famous Peruvian cuisine in the nearby restaurants or you can simply take a break in one of the Seats of the Plaza and then take the classic photos to remember in a warm atmosphere despite the cold of Cusco nights. And if you like the night around the square you will find many nightclubs and bars full of tourists and locals who expect to have fun.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas.-

We’ll pick you up from the hotel at 07:30 AM and head to the fertile valley for a full-day tour. The valley is renowned for its excellent climate, fertile lands, and cultural significance. As we explore the Sacred Valley between Pisac and Ollantaytambo, you’ll witness breathtaking landscapes and encounter the Quechua ethnic group who proudly preserve their customs, traditions, and ancestral rites.

Prepare to marvel at the advanced agricultural techniques of the Incas, showcased through the intricate “andenería” systems (platform terraces) that are still in use today. These systems demonstrate the Inca’s remarkable hydraulic engineering for irrigation purposes.

Day 3: Travel By Train to Aguas Calientes town.-

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, join us on a 15-minute walk to the train station. Embark on a two-hour scenic journey through the charming Urubamba Valley. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes town, we’ll make a short 10-minute walk to reach the hotel. Take your time to savor a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants. Afterwards, you have the option to explore the town, go on a 3-hour hike to the picturesque “Mandor” waterfall, or simply unwind in the natural hot springs. Your guide will provide you with all the details and ensure you have an amazing tour.

Day 4: Machu Picchu Tour.-

Our knowledgeable guide will share fascinating history and lead you through the stunning attractions. You’ll be surrounded by breathtaking views, amazing architecture, and captivating stories from centuries ago—an unforgettable experience. Leave your belongings safely at the hotel storage to fully enjoy the wonders of Machu Picchu.

You’ll have plenty of time to explore the sights and soak in the majestic energy while our experienced guide shares stories and uncovers secrets of this stunning historic wonder. After our magical morning at Machu Picchu, enjoy a delicious local lunch before catching the train back to Ollantaytambo and being driven back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 5: Rainbow Mountain Tour:

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 05:00am in our private vehicle and head to the trailhead at the community of “Chillihany” (4,326 m / 14,189 ft) in the Southern Valley of Cusco. During the 3:30-hour drive, we’ll make stops for restroom breaks and to purchase any necessary items for the trip. You can also get hot drinks or breakfast.

Once we arrive at the starting point, we’ll begin our hike along the mountain. You’ll be amazed by the abundance of alpacas and llamas, as well as the stunning views of Ausangate Mountain. Along the way, we’ll pass through villages and have the opportunity to interact with the locals.

After approximately 2:30 hours of hiking (3 km), we will reach our main destination, the Rainbow Mountains (5,020 m / 16,470 ft). Take your time to explore the area, take photos, and enjoy the surroundings. We’ll spend around 30 minutes at the top.

Afterward, we will hike downhill along the same trail, which will take about one hour. Our private van will be waiting for us to take us back to Cusco. On the way, we’ll make a stop for a traditional lunch. After a satisfying meal, we’ll continue our journey back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel. The approximate arrival time is between 4:00 and 5:00 PM.

Day 6: Departure from Cusco.-

After Breakfast in the hotel will transfer you to the airport.
