Day 1: Bus to Capuliyoc and Trek to Playa Rosalina.
Our team will meet you at your accommodation at 5:30 AM for a scenic 4-hour drive to Capuliyoc (2900m). From there, we’ll embark on a downhill trek to Playa Rosalina Camp (1550m), a journey taking about 5 hours. Enjoy a delightful lunch and dinner en route.
Day 2: Trek to Choquekirao Camp.
Starting early, we will trek to the Choquekirao site (2950m), where our campsite provides breathtaking views of the Apurimac Gorge at sunset. The trek spans approximately 6-7 hours and includes delicious meals.
Day 3: Explore Choquekirao and Trek to Maizal.
Your guide will lead an insightful tour of Choquekirao. We’ll descend to the glacial Rio Blanco, then continue hiking to the village of Maizal. This full-day adventure lasts about 7 hours and includes a supply box with a light breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 4: Trek from Maizal to Yanama.
We start on a two-hour undulating trail, then climb steeply to the summit of San Juan (4210m/13,549 ft). A zigzag descent for two hours brings us to Yanama (3800m). Today’s hike covers about six hours.
Day 5: Trek from Yanama to Totora.
